Our Nepalese family
Since we have had Sherpas working for us for almost 20 years, they have become part of our family. It is a joy when they arrive every summer – and when we visit them in Kunde in Nepal.
The author Arne Hauge from Jæren once wrote: ‘When a Norwegian mopes, he builds a drystone wall’. With the advent of the oil age, there were hardly any moping Norwegians left, and in any case, they forgot the art of clearing boulders. That is something brothers Mingma and Nuru Sherpa know how to do. The farm wouldn’t be the same without them. Looking for art? Check out our drystone walls. The Sherpa Room is a tribute to our friends from the Himalayas – who could teach us a thing or two about patience.
