Keeper of the river
The room faces onto the farmyard and the garden. Here, you can wake up to the buzzing of bumblebees in the rose bush outside, and bumblebees deserve to be well looked after. The room is furnished in honour of the Vassaasen family from Lillehammer, who have come here every summer since the 1970s. With their unparalleled knowledge of nature and culture, the father Jan Gunnar and his sons Jan Ove and Bjørn Ivar have contributed to the restoration of Aurlandselva river. Many thanks to them, and to their very patient wives, for all the hours they have spent beside, and on behalf of, the river. Sleep well!
